Pawan Kalyan condemned Chandrababu Naidu's arrest

His car enroute Vijayawada was stopped

Senior Jana Sena Party leader Nandela Manohar also taken into custody

Superstar Pawan Kalyan, also the founder of Jana Sena Party, had registered his dissent publicly against the arrest of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He had made plans to head to Vijayawada as part of his demonstration of support for the leader. 

He had planned to take a flight from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. However, police officers ensured that the flight would not take off. Pawan Kalyan hence decided to travel to Vijayawada through road. His car was however blocked twice in the NTR district. This prompted him to go on a walking trip to Vijayawada. Upon being blocked by the police, he laid on the road. The police were forced to take him into preventive custody along with his Nandela Manohar, a senior leader for the Jana Sena Party. 

“We have taken Kalyan and Manohar into preventive custody. We are taking them to Vijayawada,” Nandigama Sub-Divisional Police Officer Janardhan Naidu told PTI. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on the accusation of being a principal conspirator and “accused no 1” in the ₹371 crore skill development scam by the Andhra Pradesh police. He was arrested by the CID early in the morning from RK Function Hall at Gnanapuram in Nandyala town.
