People built a temple for me,that is Sanatana Dharma: Khushbu Sundar

Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remark that Sanatana Dharma is akin to Dengue and must be eradicated rather than just opposed had been cause for controversy across the nation with the allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) categorising the statement as a call for genocide. A.Ashvathaman, State Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had even requested the governor of Tamil Nadu to initiate criminal proceedings against Udhayanidhi Stalin. 

Amidst this controversy, Khushbu Sundar’s comments have been a source of comedic relief amidst a rather heavy confrontation. Taking to the social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, she posted, “I come from a  muslim background, yet people built a temple for me. That is Sanatana Dharma. Believe, respect, love and accept all as one. DK chief K Veeramani accepts the truth of Sanatana Dharma, why is DMK in denial? Just a lame way to deviate from their failures.” 

Users of X pointed out to her that adoration from fans varies vastly to the religious faith which people have to god. It was a rare moment when people affiliated to both the right wing as well as the left wing were united in observing the irony of the post.
