Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh. During one of her speeches, in the process of taking a jibe at leaders from opposition parties, Kangana Ranaut committed a blunder. 

While addressing a gathering in the Sarkaghat Vidhana Sabha constituency, Kangana Ranuat stated that Tejasvi Surya eats fish and indulges in hooliganism. Tejasvi Surya is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency. It is evident that she meant Tejaswhi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). TejaswhiYadav had earlier posted a video of eating fish on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter). This was even criticised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of his election speeches.

Her mistake was soon picked up by the supporters of the opposition parties. “BrotherTejasvi Surya, told you it is not just us Congress folks, citizens, even people in your own bjp party includingKangana Ranaut have been campaigning against you,” Sowmya Reddy, the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate from Bengaluru South stated on X. Tejaswhi Yadav too remarked on this incident by sarcastically asking, “Who is this respected lady?”
