A stirring visual has emerged amidst celebrations in Ayodhya on the occasion of Deepavali. Underprivileged teenagers can be seen emptying the oil from the lamps onto a container while simultaneously ensuring that the police does not catch them in the act. This is said to have occurred near the Sarayu Ghat. “Depravity amidst divinity, where the poor are forced to take oil from lamps, the joys of the festivities become diminished. I can only wish that there comes a time where not just the banks of the river but even the houses of the poor are illuminated,” Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav stated on a post in his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
pic.twitter.com/hNS8w9z96B

Earlier, the Ayodhya Deepotsav had entered the Guinness Book of World Record with 22.23 lakh lamps lit on Ram Ki Paidi. Firecrackers were also usd on this occasion much to the delight of the crowd. “Diwali is celebrated to honour the return of Bhagwan Ram-Ji to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, and eradicating negative powers and demonic tendencies, as well as laying the foundation stone of Ramrajya,” Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Yogi Aditynath said addressing the gathering on the occasion.
