In preparation for CAT 2023, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) has implemented significant revisions to its admission policy.

CAT 2023 witnessed an unprecedented surge in registrations, with a remarkable 3.3 lakh candidates enrolling for the examination. This signifies a substantial increase compared to the previous year's approximately 2.5 lakh registrations.

This surge in participation in 2023 marked the highest level of engagement since the inception of the CAT examination in 1977.

IIM-Bangalore's primary postgraduate program admissions rely on Common Admission Test (CAT) scores as a crucial determinant. Aspiring candidates seeking admission to IIMs undergo a rigorous selection process that encompasses evaluation based on their CAT scores, in addition to assessments such as the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI).

The allocation of weightage for the selection process is detailed as follows:

CAT 2023 score: 25 percent

Class 10 marks: 5 percent

Class 12 marks: 5 percent

Graduation marks: 5 percent

Work Experience: 10 percent

Writing Ability Test: 10 percent

Personal Interview: 40 percent

IIM Bangalore holds a prominent position among India's premier educational institutions and is renowned for its practice of offering attractive salary packages to its graduates. In the preceding year, the highest package extended to an impressive Rs 80 lakh, with an average Cost to Company (CTC) of Rs 35.31 lakh.
