The inclusion of a donkey in the Bigg Boss 18 house has sparked controversy, with animal welfare group PETA raising objections. During the grand premiere on Sunday, Bigg Boss introduced 18 contestants, including TV actors, politicians, and influencers. However, it was the non-human resident, a donkey named Gadhraj, that captured the most attention. The animal’s presence has drawn mixed reactions from viewers, with many expressing concerns.

On Wednesday, PETA India’s advocacy associate Shaurya Agrawal addressed a letter to the show’s host, Salman Khan, urging him to intervene. "We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house," the letter states. PETA India has called for the donkey to be surrendered and rehomed in a sanctuary alongside other rescued animals.

The letter highlights the ethical concerns of using animals in entertainment and insists that their presence on such a platform is "no laughing matter." PETA has appealed to Salman Khan, a major star with significant influence, to act and prevent animals from being used as props on the show.

The donkey was reportedly brought into the Bigg Boss house by one of the contestants, Advocate Sadavarte, further fueling the debate over the ethics of its inclusion.
