Phil Salt returns for IPL 2025 final, boosting RCB’s hopes

In a major boost for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), explosive English batter Phil Salt has returned to the squad ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings. The final is scheduled to take place in a few hours now at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Salt had travelled home to be with his partner, Abi McLaven, who was expecting their first child. The couple welcomed a baby boy, and Salt has now returned to India to represent RCB in their first IPL final appearance since 2016.

Salt and McLaven, who have been together since 2020, shared the joyous news privately before Salt made his way back. McLaven, a freelance social media marketing professional, has reportedly stayed in England with the newborn.
