Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has called for Blinkit’s new 10-minute ambulance service to comply with all legal regulations. Goyal’s remarks came after the e-commerce platform launched the service as a pilot project in select areas of Gurugram. The initiative aims to provide rapid emergency medical response, with Blinkit promising that ambulances will reach users within 10 minutes of booking.

Goyal emphasized the importance of adhering to the "law of the land" and ensuring that all legal requirements are met. He stressed that Blinkit must ensure that its service, including medicine deliveries and ambulance dispatches, does not violate any existing regulations. The minister further highlighted the need for proper legal frameworks to support such services.
The 10-minute ambulance service allows users to book an ambulance directly through the Blinkit app in emergencies. The ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, and critical emergency medications. Each ambulance is staffed with trained paramedics and assistants to assist during emergencies.
Blinkit’s founder, Albinder Dhindsa, stated that the company aims to provide a reliable and affordable ambulance service that can swiftly respond to critical situations. The initiative is seen as part of Blinkit’s broader efforts to expand into essential services beyond traditional e-commerce.
