The building, which was under construction, collapsed while around 20 workers were present at the site. Rescue efforts are ongoing to ensure no one remains trapped under the debris.
In a separate incident, a seven-year-old boy, Suhas Gowda, tragically died after falling into a water-filled lift pit at another under-construction building in the city. Heavy rains had caused the pit to flood, leading to the child's drowning. The incident occurred in the Kadugodi area, where local police have registered a case and are investigating further.
Both incidents have raised concerns over the safety standards at construction sites in Bengaluru, particularly during the ongoing monsoon season.
