The British royal family confirmed the meeting via a post on X, noting the interaction at Sandringham. During the visit, PM Modi gifted the monarch a sapling of Davidia involucrata 'Sonoma', also known as the Sonoma dove tree, recognized for its unique white bracts resembling handkerchiefs or doves. Unlike its typical variant that takes years to flower, the 'Sonoma' variety blooms within two to three years. This gift was part of Modi’s environmental campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” which promotes tree planting in honour of one's mother.
