The Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 12 years, commenced on January 13 and will continue until February 26. Regarded as one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimages, the grand event has drawn millions of devotees from India and around the world.
According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 38 crore pilgrims have visited the Maha Kumbh so far, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in history. The festival features a series of holy baths, religious discourses, and cultural events, reinforcing its spiritual and cultural significance.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit highlighted the importance of the Maha Kumbh in India’s heritage, as he joined the masses in the age-old tradition of ritual bathing at the Sangam.
