Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah visited the attack site in Srinagar. In a solemn ceremony, he paid tribute to the victims by offering floral respects and observing a moment of silence. He also met with the grieving families, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the J&K administration.
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, currently visiting the US, said he had spoken with Amit Shah, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Congress leader Tariq Karra to stay updated on the situation. The Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot, has claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, marking one of the deadliest assaults in the region in recent years.
