Security agencies have launched a public campaign to track down three terrorists behind the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including 25 Indian tourists and one Nepali national. Posters featuring the names and faces of the suspected terrorists have been put up in various areas of Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir. These posters also carry the message "Terror Free Kashmir" and offer a Rs 20 lakh reward for credible information leading to the arrest of the terrorists. The identities of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

The three attackers are affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). One of them, Adil Hussain Thoker, is a resident of Anantnag, while the other two , Ali Bhai aka Talha Bhai and Hashim Musa aka Suleiman are Pakistani nationals. The Resistance Front (TRF), a known proxy group of LeT, claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, which occurred in the Baisaran meadow, around six kilometres from Pahalgam town. It marks the worst attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama bombing.
In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan responded by striking Indian military and civilian targets. India countered with attacks on 11 key Pakistani airbases before both sides reached a ceasefire agreement on May 10, though India has ruled out diplomatic engagement with Islamabad.
