The Hindi remake of the Tamil film Ghajini was the first film to breach the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office among Hindi films. Pradeep Rawat, the actor who played the role of the antagonist in both the Tamil and Hindi version of the movie talked about how Salman Khan was the initial choice for the film. “AR Murugadoss used to keep saying ‘I want to make it (Ghajini) in Hindi, I want to make it in Hindi…' I thought in my mind ‘Salman is short-tempered and Murugadoss doesn’t speak in English or Hindi. He didn’t even have a personality back then. I thought Aamir would be the right choice for the role because he was cool-tempered and behaves respectfully with everyone. In the past 25 years, I have not seen Aamir shout or yell at anyone. He has never disrespected anyone or used abusive language. So I thought, naturewise, Salman cannot be handled or there would be unnecessary complications,” he said in an interview with Siddharth Kannan.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan underwent an immense transformation in his body for the role along with getting a unique haircut. Pradeep revealed that an injury caused on the set made Aamir Khan use an expletive generally uncharacteristic of him. “I was supposed to run for a bit and jump on the mattresses, and Aamir was supposed to follow suit. While jumping, I ensured there was space for Aamir to jump and land on the mattress, but the next I heard was him crying in pain. ‘Are baap re…!’ I saw him scream in excruciating pain. This was the first time I heard him abuse. He had to be picked up. Aamir Khan doesn’t abuse, but pehli baar unke mooh see gaali suni thi (but first time I heard him using abusive words),” Pradeep added.
