The 2024 Padma Awards were conferred by President to President Droupadi Murmu in the Raj Bhavan in New Delhi. Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhinkar, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the Home Minister of India Amit Shah were also present on this occasion. 132 Padma Awards were granted of which 5 were Padma Vibushans, 17 were Padma Bhushans and 110 were Padmashrees.
Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi and Kollywood actress and Kollywood actress Vyjayanthimala were conferred with the Padma Vibhushan award. The first female Supreme Court judge Fathima Beevi, Managing Director of Mumbai Samachar Hormusji N. Cama late Kollywood superstar Captain Vijaykanth were conferred with the Padma Bhushan award.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader O.Rajagopal, Dalai Lama’s follower from Ladakh Togdan Rinpoche, the CEO of the Gujarati newspaper Kundan Vyas were also some other awardees. Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from the Bengaluru North constituency Shobha Karandlaje used this opportunity to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “What a heartwarming video..!!
