Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing increasing pressure from within his own party to step down as Liberal leader, as frustration among Liberal MPs grows. According to news reports, the push for Trudeau’s resignation was made clear during a closed-door caucus meeting on Parliament Hill on Wednesday.

The meeting, part of the regular weekly caucus sessions held during the House of Commons, gave dissenting MPs the chance to voice their concerns directly to Trudeau. A document outlining grievances and calling for his resignation was presented, although no specific consequences were mentioned if Trudeau failed to act by the October 28 deadline.

The internal discontent comes as 24 Liberal MPs have reportedly signed an agreement urging Trudeau to step down, reflecting deepening divisions within the party. Alongside internal frustrations, the souring diplomatic relations between Canada and India may be adding to the pressure on Trudeau's leadership. Tensions with India have escalated following Trudeau's public allegations regarding India’s involvement in the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada, which has strained bilateral ties.

With Trudeau under fire both domestically and internationally, the ultimatum from within his party adds significant pressure on him to make a decision about his future before October 28, a moment that could shape the Liberal Party's direction and Canada's global standing.
