Prime Video has unveiled the Indian adaptation of the globally renowned reality show, The Traitors, set to be hosted by filmmaker and television personality Karan Johar. The show, produced by BBC Studios India in partnership with All3Media International, is based on the award-winning format created by Marc Pos and IDTV’s Jasper Hoogendoorn.
In this unscripted series, 20 contestants will compete for a massive cash prize as they navigate psychological and physical challenges inside a royal palace. However, a handful of contestants will secretly play the role of “traitors,” working to deceive and eliminate the rest, known as “innocents.” The game unfolds with dramatic twists, where trust and strategy are constantly tested, with the innocents trying to unmask the traitors before they are picked off one by one.

Speaking about the show’s debut, Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, reportedly emphasized the significance of introducing The Traitors as a milestone in their lineup of unscripted content.
Johar expressed excitement, stating, “Having seen the UK and US versions, I’m a fan of this thrilling format. I look forward to adding my touch to the Indian edition.”
