UK Member of Parliament Priti Patel has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, which occurred on April 22. Addressing the UK House of Commons, she extended her condolences to the victims and called on the British government to deepen its counter-terrorism cooperation with India.

Patel emphasized that Pahalgam now joins cities like Mumbai and New Delhi in bearing the scars of terrorism. She referred to the incident as a clear act of terror and insisted that the UK must recognize the continued threat posed by terror groups operating from Pakistan.
While advocating for diplomatic efforts and de-escalation between India and Pakistan, Patel also asserted India’s right to defend itself. She stressed that the UK should support India in taking measured and proportionate actions against terrorism, including dismantling terror infrastructure that targets both India and Western interests.

“This is a delicate and dangerous time,” Patel remarked, adding that while military escalation between India and Pakistan should be avoided, the underlying threat from Pakistan-based terrorists cannot be ignored. She highlighted that these groups not only endanger India but also pose a broader threat to international peace and security.
