Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently shared a troubling experience from her early career, highlighting the objectification she faced in the film industry. Speaking at an event, she recounted an incident where a director insisted on a revealing costume, making degrading comments about her appearance.

Chopra recalled asking the director to discuss wardrobe details with her stylist. However, he instead made crude remarks, stating, “People will come to watch her when she shows her panties. It needs to be short enough so they can see.” The actress, just 19 at the time, was deeply disturbed.

She confided in her mother, Madhu Chopra, and ultimately chose to walk away from the film. “If that’s how small I am in his eyes, there’s no room for growth,” she said. Chopra has since refused to work with the director, asserting, “My perception is my identity.”

On the professional front, Chopra is set to return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming action-adventure film, starring Mahesh Babu. The project is in pre-production, with Mahesh preparing for his intense role in Germany.

In Hollywood, Chopra will appear in Citadel Season 2, Heads of State, and The Bluff, reaffirming her presence in global cinema. Despite past challenges, she continues to carve her own path on her terms.
