I wanted to instil confidence among students: Amala
‘Level Cross’ released in theatres on 26th July
Mollywood actress Amala Paul has been busy with the promotional activities for her movie ‘Level Cross’ wherein she would be featured alongside Mollywood actor Asif Ali. Amala and Asif had reached St.Albert’s College in Ernakulam for this purpose. Amala however received criticism for the attire in which she had presented herself during the event. Amala was subject to trolling on social media as a result of this. Amala responded to the criticism directed at her. “The students were totally comfortable with what I wore. I wear all types of clothing, be it traditional or western. By wearing that dress, I wanted to instil confidence among students regarding their dressing choices,” Amala said in an interaction with Onmanorama.
Amala pointed fingers at the media for the turn of events. “The problem lies with how the cameras projected my dressing style. I wore what was comfortable for me. My dress was not inappropriate for the function. What was probably inappropriate was the way the cameras projected my attire. I have no control over that,” Amala added.
