Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star has been arrested along with 13 others over suspicion of involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. They are being interrogated by the police. Although the police are being transparent in dealing with this case, influential people are reported to have been trying to secure his release. 

A Minister is said to have been making persistent efforts in this regard. He is said to have even shed tears. He supposedly met the Home Minister of Karnataka Dr G. Parameshwara. The Minister of Law, Parliamentary affairs and Legislation of Karnataka H.K Patil was apparently summoned by Dr G. Pameshwara in order to handle the situation.

The incident apparently took place at Dr G. Parameshwara’s residence. Various dimensions of the case are believed to have been discussed at this juncture. This included the various troubles that await Darshan. Another aspect of the discussion was the negative consequences the Karnataka government would have to face if they worked towards securing Darshan’s release. The practical difficulties of interfering with an ongoing investigation was explained to the minister by H.K Patil. The minister was warned about being dragged into the case in case of interference. At this juncture the minister is reported to have fallen to Dr G. Parameshwara’s feet. The efforts of the minister however did not bear fruit.
