Chasing a challenging target of 359, India faced an early setback with the dismissal of captain Rohit Sharma for just 8 runs. However, a resilient partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill provided a glimmer of hope for the hosts as they attempted to build momentum.
