Puppy love didn’t pan out as planned; Janhvi Kapoor shares blast from past

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor appeared on Swipe Ride, a series by Tinder India hosted by Fashion Designer Kusha Kapila. The conversation covered many aspects of dating life such as preference in men and experiences in the past. Jhanvi Kapoor recollected an instance from her younger days when her parents acted as a roadblock in her romantic pursuit.

"My first ever serious boyfriend was that same 'chup-chup ke milenge' (meet in hiding) 'jhooth bol bol ke' (we will lie about each other) all of that and but unfortunately that relationship ended because I had to lie so much and mom and dad were like 'No you will never have a boyfriend'... very conservative. And that's when I realised having your parents approval and having transparency with them makes everything so easy. It makes you feel so much more confident about your decisions." she said during the talk that happened over a car ride.

It is funny seeing how so many films starring Sridevi and produced by Boney Kapoor promoted the message of open mindedness among Indian parents. One can contend that it is hard to practise what you preach.
