Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken the box office by storm, setting new milestones for Indian cinema. Directed by Sukumar, the film amassed a colossal ₹175.1 crore nett on its opening day in India, establishing itself as one of the highest Day 1 grosser in Indian film history. Globally, the movie’s gross earnings have already surpassed ₹200 crore, fueled by strong overseas collections.

The film, released on December 5, was screened on over 12,000 screens worldwide, with paid premieres on December 4 in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Bengaluru contributing ₹10.1 crore to the opening-day tally.
The Telugu version dominated collections with ₹85 crore nett, followed by the Hindi version, which earned ₹67 crore, surpassing the previous record of ₹64 crore held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. The Tamil and Malayalam versions added ₹7 crore and ₹5 crore, respectively, further bolstering the film’s performance.
Trade analysts, including Ramesh Bala, hailed Pushpa 2 as an “all-time Day 1 opener in India.” The film’s success has sparked discussions about whether it could break the global opening record of RRR, which grossed ₹223 crore on its first day.
Starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, the movie also features Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sunil, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. A special cameo by Sreeleela added to the buzz, drawing massive crowds, including jubilant fans dancing at theaters.
