BookMyShow’s year-end report, #BookMyShowThrowback, crowned Pushpa 2: The Rule as 2024's most-watched film. Released on December 5, the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise dominated screens, attracting 10.8 lakh solo viewers.
While 2024 saw several anticipated releases like Fighter, Stree 2, Singham Again, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, none matched the buzz or ticket sales of Pushpa 2. The year’s highest single-day ticket sales occurred on November 1, with 2.3 million tickets sold in 24 hours.

Live events also thrived, with BookMyShow hosting 30,687 events across 319 cities, marking an 18% surge in India’s live entertainment consumption. Highlights included performances by the Jonas Brothers at Lollapalooza India, Diljit Dosanjh with Ed Sheeran, and Maroon 5. Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in Ahmedabad attracted fans from over 500 cities, spotlighting the rise of music tourism, with over 4.7 lakh fans traveling for live events.
Tier 2 cities saw remarkable growth, with live entertainment participation surging by 682% in markets like Kanpur, Shillong, and Gandhinagar. Solo participation also grew, with over 8.8 lakh fans attending events independently.
On the streaming front, BookMyShow Stream recorded 107,023 hours of content consumed, adding 446 new titles to its 2,978-film library.
2024 proved to be a landmark year for Indian entertainment.
