Tired of long queues to consult doctors at government hospitals in Karnataka. Soon you could be relieved from this as Karnataka Health Department is planning to introduce QR code-based OPD Registration.
Through this new move, patients will be able to consult doctors at government hospitals by using QR code on their smartphone without having to wait in long queues for hours.
With the help of QR code-based OPD registrations, patients can cut the average wait time from nearly an hour to just few minutes to consult a doctor.
Patients will have to check in to the hospital two hours prior to the opening of the registration window for medical consultation with doctors.
Through QR code registrations, patients can exchange their personal information with the facility by scanning the specific QR code of the hospital on their smartphone.
Following the registration using QR code, the hospital will generate and share a token number on your smartphone for consultation.
The token numbers will be displayed on screens at OPD registration counters for the convenience of patients.
Patients can then go to the registration counter and receive their outpatient slip instantly for consulting the doctor.
With this system, the health department of Karnataka is set to create another milestone on going digital and leveraging technology for better patient care.
