Raghu suspected to have stolen jewellery from Renukaswamy during physical assault

The police conducted spot inspections at the residence of various suspects in the murder of Renukaswamy in Chitradurga. The houses of Raghu alias Raghavendra, Annu, Jagga and Ravi were searched. Cars, autos and mobiles were seized in the process. Rs 10 lakh in cash, a chain, a ring, a watch and a silver casket were recovered from the residence of Raghavendra who is believed to have a prominent face in the Chitradurga Darshan Fans’ Association. 

Reports indicate that these were stolen from Renukaswamy during his physical assault. Rs 10 lakh are said to have been given to Raghavendra by the Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star. He handed this over to his wife. Raghavendra’s wife Sahana was called to Bengaluru for this transfer of cash.

The money given to hire a car has also been seized. This amounts to Rs 4000. Apart from mobiles and the auto, clothes were also seized at Jagga’s residence. A similar procedure was followed at Annu’s residence. A section of the investigating officers have stayed back in Chitradurga. It is expected that they may take the investigation forward on June 17th as well.
