Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will commence from the Thoubal district in Manipur on January 14th. It will cover 100 Lok Sabha constituencies across 15 states. A distance of 6713 kilometres will be covered through bus or by foot over a period of 67 days. The event will conclude in Mumbai on March 20th. “All I can say is that in 2003, we lost Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, people wrote the Congress off, but in 2004, the Congress formed the government. India was shining at that time. Tiger zinda hai ( The tiger is alive- movie), that is my constant refrain. Amrit kaal (prosperous times) is a dream, anyay kaal (unjust times) is a nightmare. A weak Congress cannot ensure a strong opposition. Only a strong Congress can ensure a strong opposition. This 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' is to strengthen the Congress,” General Secretary in-charge Communications, Indian National Congress Jairam Ramesh said in a media interaction ahead of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

The campaign has been strategically planned so as to not clash with the polling which are expected to commence in the first week of April. “The Yatra will interact with every section of the society like farmers, labourers, Dalits, tribals, backward classes, small traders, shopkeepers, women, ex-servicemen, sportspersons, teachers, Asha workers, Anganwadi groups, NGOs, SHGs etc,” President of the  Indian National Congress Mallikarjun Kahrge stated on X.
