Initial reports had offered a glimmer of hope when a one-year-old baby, Aarush, was pulled from the rubble alive. However, despite the valiant efforts of rescue personnel, both children from the family—including Aarush—were later declared dead. The news has left the community in deep mourning.
In a small relief, the children’s mother, who was also trapped under the debris, has been rescued alive. She is currently receiving medical treatment and is said to be in a stable condition.
The incident has sparked renewed concern over construction near hilly terrain and the vulnerability of such areas during heavy monsoons. Local authorities are assessing the region for further risks and have advised residents in landslide-prone zones to evacuate as a precaution.
Emergency teams continue to monitor the area as recovery operations wind down. The tragic loss of two young lives has cast a shadow over the region, even as survivors begin the long road to recovery.
