After a week-long pause in the Indian Premier League due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the high-voltage tournament is set to resume today with a much-anticipated match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The 58th match of the season is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM at Bengaluru’s iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB, under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, will face off against Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR in what is expected to be a thrilling contest. However, all eyes are also on the sky, as widespread pre-monsoon rains continue to lash Karnataka, raising concerns about possible interruptions.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert across all districts in the state today, warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Starting tomorrow, parts of North Karnataka, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, Bagalkote, Koppal, Gadag, Belagavi, Dharwad, and Haveri, will move to an orange alert status for May 17 and 18, signaling more intense weather activity.
Districts like Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Ballari, Vijayanagara, Davangere, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Tumakuru, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur will continue to be under yellow alert over the next two days.
