Bengaluru witnessed yet another spell of intense rain and thunderstorms on Thursday evening, leaving several areas waterlogged and traffic severely disrupted. Thunder and lightning struck various parts of the city, including Malleshwaram and Yeshwantpur, as rain lashed the city for hours.

Motorists were left stranded at the Okalipuram Junction underpass after waterlogging brought movement to a halt. In Yelahanka, heavy rains flooded the stretch near Kogilu Cross, creating traffic snarls. Low-lying areas along the Yeshwantpur-Goraguntepalya road experienced a complete traffic jam, with vehicles inching forward due to standing water.
In Seshadripuram, a large tree branch fell on a car near the Jataka Bundi stand, further compounding traffic woes. No injuries were reported, but the fallen branch caused significant chaos during peak hours.
Prestige Jindal Apartment in Anchhe Palya experienced high-speed winds along with the rain, leading to momentary panic among residents as storm-like conditions swept the area. In the second stage of BTM Layout, rainwater accumulated on roads, turning them into lake-like stretches and severely affecting vehicular movement.
Heavy downpours also impacted key city zones such as Majestic, Anand Rao Circle, Gandhinagar, K.R. Circle, Sivananda Circle, and Corporation Circle, where waterlogging and traffic congestion were widely reported.
Authorities have urged commuters to avoid flooded routes and exercise caution.
