Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has appointed Rajat Patidar as their new captain, succeeding Faf du Plessis. The franchise made the announcement through a special video, paying tribute to past RCB leaders before unveiling Patidar as the new charioteer of the team.
Following the announcement, Patidar addressed fans on stage, expressing his gratitude and excitement. In a heartfelt speech, he said, “Hi, I am your captain, Rajat Patidar. Many legends have led RCB, and now, I feel proud to take on this role. My leadership style is calm, and I believe in assessing situations without panic. Understanding what is needed at the moment is my strength.”

Acknowledging the experienced players in the squad, Patidar emphasized teamwork, saying, “There are many leaders in my team, both domestic and international. Their experience will support me in my leadership.”
Patidar also reflected on his journey with RCB, recalling his initial selection in 2021, followed by an uncertain period when he went unsold in the auction. “I was worried if I would get another chance. But RCB brought me back as a substitute, and that moment changed everything,” he said.
