In a groundbreaking move for Tamil cinema, superstar Rajinikanth is set to earn an eye-watering Rs 125 crore for his upcoming film Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for his critically acclaimed Jai Bhim, the film has already generated significant buzz with the release of its highly anticipated trailer. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 10.
Rajinikanth's massive paycheck has become a focal point of discussion in the industry, cementing his status as one of India’s highest-paid actors. Alongside Rajinikanth, an ensemble cast brings additional star power to Vettaiyan. Leading actress Manju Warrier, who plays a pivotal role, is reportedly earning between Rs 2 and Rs 3 crore, while Malayalam sensation Fahadh Faasil is set to make between Rs 2 and Rs 4 crore.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan also features in the film in a cameo appearance, with a reported remuneration of Rs 7 crore. Telugu actor Rana Daggubati, another prominent name in the cast, has been paid Rs 5 crore for his role. Meanwhile, Ritika Singh, known for her versatility, will receive Rs 25 lakhs for her performance.
The film's music is also making waves, with the song Manassilayo turning into an instant hit and raising excitement among fans. With high expectations, Vettaiyan is positioned to be one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year.
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is set to surpass Rajinikanth’s earnings with a staggering Rs 275 crore for his upcoming film Thalapathy 69. Directed by H Vinoth, this project is being touted as Vijay’s final film, marking a historic moment in Indian cinema.
