Superstar Rajinikanth has been discharged from a Chennai hospital after undergoing a successful heart procedure.

The 73-year-old actor was admitted on September 30 following complaints of discomfort and stomach pain. Doctors discovered a swelling in his aorta, the main blood vessel leading from the heart. Under the guidance of senior cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish, a stent was placed using a non-invasive, transcatheter method to treat the condition.

The hospital issued a statement assuring fans that the procedure went smoothly, stating, "Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and doing well. He should be home in two days." The statement also highlighted that the actor is expected to make a full recovery after a brief period of rest.

Rajinikanth will take a few weeks off before resuming work on his upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The star-studded film features Rajinikanth alongside Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, and Shruti Haasan, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, his highly anticipated film Vettaiyan is set to hit theaters on October 10. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil. The trailer for Vettaiyan was released earlier this week, adding to the excitement surrounding the action-packed entertainer.
