Rajinikanth fans gear up for 'Vettaiyan' release with DJ and 50-foot cutout of him in Mumbai

Mumbai is set to witness an extravagant celebration as fans of Superstar Rajinikanth prepare for the release of his much-anticipated film, Vettaiyan. The film, which reunites Rajinikanth with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, will hit theaters on October 10 at Star City in Matunga, where the first show will begin at 4 a.m.

Fans of the Tamil cinema icon, who have a tradition of going all out for his film releases, are planning a grand event to mark the occasion. A 50-foot cutout of Rajinikanth will be installed outside the theater, where an abhishekam (ritual bathing) will be performed, a customary fan tribute to their beloved "Thalaivar."

The celebration will kick off as early as 3 a.m. with a DJ playing Rajinikanth’s iconic songs to set the festive mood. Christopher, a key member of Rajinikanth’s Mumbai fan club, revealed, "We have booked two shows for our fan club, and the theater has graciously allowed us to play a DJ set before the screening."

The excitement has been further heightened by Rajinikanth's reunion with Amitabh Bachchan after three decades. The fan club also plans to display a large banner of Bachchan alongside Rajinikanth’s cutout to honor this on-screen reunion.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier.
