Released in theaters on October 10, Vettaiyan saw a strong opening, with the film earning around Rs 110 crore in just two days. Despite a minor dip in collections on its second day, the movie rebounded on Saturday, adding Rs 35 crore to its global tally. The film has also surpassed the Rs 50 crore mark in Tamil Nadu, where it has received strong support from fans.
Though Vettaiyan has shown signs of fluctuating performance outside Tamil Nadu, the advance sales for day four (Sunday) stand at Rs 12 crore, signaling sustained interest. Released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, the film’s pan-Indian appeal remains promising.
Featuring Rajinikanth in the lead, alongside stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier, Vettaiyan boasts a stellar ensemble cast. Anirudh Ravichander's music, a key highlight, complements the intense storyline, which centers on a riveting crime investigation and a relentless pursuit of justice.
