Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' to debut on Netflix on July 26

The much-anticipated sports-drama 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,' starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 26 at midnight. Directed by Sharan Sharma and co-written with Nikhil Mehrotra, the film also features Kumud Mishra in a crucial role.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,' produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, alongside Zee Studios, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta, weaves a tale of love and ambition against the backdrop of cricket.

The narrative follows Mahendra (Rajkummar Rao) and Mahima (Janhvi Kapoor) as they meet for marriage prospects and fall in love. After tying the knot, they discover a mutual passion for cricket. Mahendra, who once dreamt of being a cricketer but faced disapproval from his father (Kumud Mishra), sees potential in Mahima and encourages her to pursue the sport, despite her initial lack of interest. The story unfolds as Mahendra attempts to fulfill his dreams through Mahima's burgeoning cricket career.

The film, which hit theatres on May 31, garnered impressive box office collections, with an India nett of over Rs 36.34 crore and a worldwide total of Rs 51.95 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' explores themes of passion, fame, and the complex dynamics of gender roles, concluding that true joy lies in the act of doing rather than in the applause it brings.
