The much-anticipated cinematic adaptation of the "Ramayana," starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, has officially been announced, promising to bring the revered Indian epic to life with groundbreaking scale and artistry.

Directed by celebrated filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, the project, helmed by Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios, is set to hit theaters with Part 1 scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

Malhotra, known for his work on Hollywood blockbusters like Dune and Inception, as well as recent projects such as The Garfield Movie, is dedicating his expertise in visual storytelling to this historic endeavor.
Unveiling the first official poster on social media, Malhotra reflected on his decade-long journey to bring this sacred epic to the big screen. “Over ten years ago, I set out to create an authentic, visually stunning adaptation of our history, culture, and timeless values," he shared. "This film is for audiences worldwide, made with reverence for our greatest epic.”
With a team devoted to creating an authentic portrayal, this rendition of the "Ramayana" is set to captivate global audiences and honour a tale cherished for over 5,000 years.
