The investigation, led by IAS officer Gaurav Gupta, will determine whether Ramachandra Rao misused his official privileges to facilitate security breaches at the airport. Authorities suspect that he may have used his position to allow Ranya Rao to bypass airport security undetected.

As part of the inquiry, DG-IGP Alok Mohan has been directed to provide all necessary documents related to the case. The CID will examine whether airport officials overlooked security lapses and if any police personnel were involved in helping Ranya evade checks while smuggling 14.8 kg of gold from Dubai.

The state government has emphasized the need for a thorough and impartial probe to uncover potential misuse of power by high-ranking officers. The investigation team has been instructed to submit a detailed report within a week.

This latest development has intensified scrutiny over the case, raising concerns about protocol misuse and security failures at Bengaluru airport. The government has assured strict action if any violations are confirmed.
