The gold smuggling case involving Sandalwood actress Ranya Rao has taken a dramatic turn, with shocking revelations about her alleged involvement in transporting 520 kg of gold. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and CBI are conducting a joint operation to unravel the entire smuggling network.

Investigators have found that Ranya Rao made 40 trips to Dubai, each linked to smuggling operations. She reportedly received a commission of ₹3.80 lakh per kg of gold transported, totaling nearly ₹2 crore for her role in moving 520 kg of illegal gold. The authorities are now probing deeper into her connections and financial transactions.

Expanding the Investigation

As part of their crackdown, DRI-CBI teams have set up camps at Bengaluru and Mumbai airports, closely monitoring airport staff, travel agencies, and jewelry shops suspected of aiding the smuggling network. Some suspects have been detained, and authorities are also investigating the role of local police in facilitating the operations.

Adding to the intensity of the case, Ranya Rao has reportedly named a senior police officer as a key figure in the smuggling chain. With these revelations, the probe is expected to intensify, and more high-profile arrests could follow. The authorities are determined to dismantle this massive gold smuggling syndicate completely.
