Ride-hailing platform Rapido is set to introduce its women-only bike taxi service, ‘Pink Rapido,’ in Karnataka by the end of this year. The initiative, announced at the ‘Global Investment Summit’ by co-founder Pavan Guntupalli, seeks to create 25,000 job opportunities for women while ensuring safe travel options for female passengers.

Guntupalli emphasized that the project is more than just job creation—it aims to foster a secure and empowering work environment for women in the mobility sector. Initiative also aims to ensure women can travel safely with a trusted driver and reach their destination without worry.
Highlighting the inclusive nature of the initiative, Guntupalli mentioned that 35% of Rapido’s workforce comes from smaller cities and towns, providing opportunities even to women without advanced education or skills.
At the summit, industry leaders also shared insights on entrepreneurship and economic growth. Entrepreneurs praised the entrepreneurial spirit across the state, stating that Indian businesses are focused on improving lives rather than just financial gains. The launch of ‘Pink Rapido’ aligns with this vision, offering both employment and safer travel for women.
