During a promotional interview for Sikandar, Rashmika spoke about her linguistic journey. She emphasized her strong connection to Karnataka, stating that she was born and raised there, primarily speaking Kannada and English. However, after moving to Hyderabad for work, she found it essential to learn Telugu as her household staff, office team, and security personnel primarily spoke the language. She explained that adapting to Telugu was a necessity for daily communication.

This clarification comes after Rashmika previously faced backlash from Kannada-speaking fans for reportedly stating that she was from Hyderabad. Many Kannadigas criticized her for allegedly distancing herself from her roots. The statement led to a wave of disappointment among her Karnataka fan base, who felt she had overlooked her birthplace.

With her latest remarks, Rashmika seems to be addressing the controversy, reaffirming her connection to Karnataka. As she continues to expand her film career across multiple industries, the actress remains in the spotlight, both for her performances and public statements.
