After nearly 20 years, one of Sandalwood’s most iconic on-screen duos, Crazy Star V. Ravichandran and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty reunited in Bengaluru for the teaser launch of the upcoming film KD, directed by Prem and starring Dhruva Sarja in the lead. The event turned emotional and nostalgic as the pair recalled fond memories from their 2000s hit Preethsod Thappa, their last collaboration.

In KD, Shilpa Shetty returns to Kannada cinema playing the role of Satyavati, while Ravichandran appears in a unique character named Annayappa. Their on-stage chemistry during the event was as electric as ever, delighting fans and media alike. They danced together, shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and even poked fun at each other with warmth and humour.

Ravichandran recalled how, during Preethsod Thappa, Shilpa didn’t realise he was not only the hero but also the director and stunt choreographer. She later appreciated his all-round efforts when he ensured her safety during an action sequence. Shilpa fondly responded that he never praised her during the film's making, and it took 18 years and the KD stage for those compliments to arrive.

One of the highlights of the event was a recreated version of the song “Bangarada Dina”, during which a moment of spontaneity stole the show: Ravichandran’s bracelet accidentally got entangled in Shilpa’s saree pallu. With signature flair, he quipped, Even if I let go of the girl, my hand won't leave her saree,” leaving the audience in splits.
