Asked to bat first after Rajasthan won the toss, RCB posted a commanding 205/5. The innings was anchored by a fluent 70 off 42 from Virat Kohli, who set the tone with aggressive strokeplay. He was well-supported by Devdutt Padikkal, who smashed 50 off 27 against his former team. Cameos from Tim David (23 off 15) and Jitesh Sharma (20 off 10) propelled the hosts past 200.
Rajasthan Royals came out blazing in response. Yashasvi Jaiswal lit up the powerplay with a blistering 49 off 19, and RR stormed to 100 in just 8.1 overs. However, RCB clawed back through disciplined spells from Krunal Pandya (2/31) and the hero of the night, Josh Hazlewood, who picked up 4 wickets for 33 runs, including two crucial scalps in the 19th over.
Needing 17 off the final over, RR fell short as RCB’s bowlers held their nerve, sealing a much-needed win and breaking their home hoodoo in style.
