Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) face a major setback ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 final against Punjab Kings, with two of their key overseas players likely to miss the summit clash. According to reports, Phil Salt’s participation remains uncertain due to the impending birth of his child. RCB have not made any official statement, but internal sources suggest that the team is preparing for the possibility of his absence.

Meanwhile, Tim David is confirmed to be unavailable after failing to recover from a hamstring injury sustained during a group-stage match against SunRisers Hyderabad. David pulled up while fielding in the final over of that match and has not featured since, including in the crucial Qualifier 1 victory over Punjab Kings.

Salt and David have been instrumental in RCB’s strong 2025 campaign, which saw them storm into the final with dominant performances. Their absence would force the team to make key adjustments—Tim Seifert is expected to open alongside Virat Kohli, while Romario Shepherd may shoulder finishing responsibilities.

The injuries place RCB in a challenging position as they aim to secure their maiden IPL title.
