The long-awaited IPL victory for Royal Challengers Bengaluru brought immense joy across Karnataka. As RCB lifted their maiden IPL trophy, celebrations erupted in every corner of the state with fireworks, cheers, and emotional fan reactions. But amid this euphoria, a heart-wrenching incident struck in Belagavi district.
25-year-old Manjunath Kumbar, a resident of Avaradi village in Mudalagi Taluk, passed away due to a suspected heart attack during the RCB victory celebrations. According to eyewitnesses, the village had gathered to celebrate RCB's historic win in the IPL 2025 final. Manjunath, a passionate RCB fan, was seen dancing with excitement when he suddenly collapsed. Locals rushed to help, but he was declared dead on the spot.
His sudden demise turned the festive atmosphere in Avaradi into one of shock and mourning. Villagers, still coming to terms with the tragic loss, remembered Manjunath as a cheerful and spirited youth who was deeply devoted to RCB.
The final rites of Manjunath Kumbar are scheduled for 12 PM today in his native village.
The RCB family and Karnataka fans mourn the loss of one of their own, a fan who didn’t live to see another day after celebrating the biggest moment in the team’s history.
