In a shocking twist to the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede incident that occurred during the IPL 2025 celebrations, Rajesh Menon, Vice President of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) management, has reportedly gone missing. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru Police has launched an intense search operation involving three separate teams to trace him.

Sources say Rajesh Menon, who played a significant role in the RCB management during the IPL season, was closely associated with ticketing operations for the final match events. His name surfaced after allegations of gross mismanagement and ticket overselling, which allegedly led to overcrowding and the stampede-like situation outside Gate Number 8 of the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Alongside Menon, KSCA Secretary Shankar and a key RCB ticketing handler named Majeed are also untraceable. The CCB suspects their involvement in irregularities around the distribution of match passes and VIP entry permissions, which contributed to the uncontrollable crowd surge.
The stampede, which took place amid RCB’s maiden IPL title celebrations, has not only left vehicles damaged and fans injured but also raised serious questions about coordination between the team management, KSCA, and security officials. With more arrests expected in connection with the case, officials say the investigation is far from over.
