Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) historic maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title win has catalyzed a significant jump in the league’s brand and business value. According to the 2025 IPL Brand Valuation Study by Houlihan Lokey, the IPL has seen a 12.9% year-on-year increase, with its overall brand value soaring to an impressive USD 18.5 billion (₹1.58 lakh crore). The independent league valuation itself grew by 13.8%, now standing at USD 3.9 billion.

This surge reaffirms the IPL’s place among the most valuable sporting leagues globally, with consistent year-on-year growth in brand and commercial appeal. As IPL continues to dominate cricket’s global landscape, industry experts anticipate even greater value expansion in the coming years.
RCB, after clinching their first-ever title, has now overtaken Chennai Super Kings in brand rankings. The franchise’s brand value jumped from USD 227 million in 2024 to USD 269 million in 2025, placing it at the top. Mumbai Indians follow with USD 242 million, while Chennai has dropped to third with USD 235 million.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, the 2025 runner-up team, posted the highest growth among all franchises. Thanks to their aggressive auction strategies, strong digital campaigns, and finals appearance, the team’s brand value surged by 39.6% year-on-year, reaching USD 141 million.
The IPL’s upward commercial trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.
