In a dramatic moment during the IPL clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), SRH opener Abhishek Sharma made headlines not just for his explosive batting but for an unusual on-field incident. Sharma, known for his aggressive starts, smashed a massive six that struck and shattered the rear windshield of a brand-new Tata car exhibited inside the stadium for promotional purposes.

The vehicle, a showpiece by an IPL sponsor, was exhibited near the boundary ropes as part of a marketing display. During his fiery innings, Sharma launched the ball straight into the car, causing substantial damage. According to initial assessments, the cost of the damage is estimated to be around ₹5 lakh.

The incident occurred while Sharma was in fine form, scoring a quickfire 34 off just 17 deliveries, including one six and several boundaries. While fans cheered the power-packed performance, the unintended damage turned into a viral moment across social media, sparking a mix of amusement and concern.

Though such promotional displays are a common feature in the IPL, the incident has prompted discussions on the safety and placement of these vehicles. No injuries were reported, and the match continued without interruption. Sharma’s aggressive knock may have added value on the scoreboard, but it came with a costly price tag for the sponsors.
