Alongside Gupta, six MLAs, including Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Kapil Mishra, were inducted as Cabinet ministers. Others sworn in were Ashish Sood, Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Ravinder Indraj Singh. The BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years saw careful caste representation in ministerial appointments. Manjinder Singh Sirsa represents the Sikh community, Parvesh Verma is a prominent Jat leader, and Kapil Mishra serves as the party’s Brahmin face. Ashish Sood comes from the Punjabi Khatri community, while Ravinder Singh is a Dalit leader. Pankaj Kumar Singh, a dentist and first-time MLA from Vikaspuri, has strong ties with the Purvanchali community, which played a key role in BJP’s victory.

BJP veteran Vijender Gupta has been named Assembly Speaker, with Mohan Bisht as his deputy. The appointment of Rekha Gupta, 50, marks a milestone as she becomes Delhi’s fourth woman Chief Minister, following Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi. A lawyer from the Baniya community, Gupta represents a core BJP voter base that remained loyal even during AAP’s dominance in past elections.
